Producer Profile

Based in the heart of the Languedoc in Lezignan-Corbières, Domaines Auriol is a family-owned winery set up in 1995 by the formidable Claude Vialade. As the daughter of a former wine estate manager, wine has always been second nature to Claude from early days where she would follow her father around the vineyards as a child to becoming the Director of the AOC Corbières Syndicate. Today Domaines Auriol is a  producer as well as a négociant who prides itself in its Occitan roots. Their Estates and Family brands are great examples of the best wines this part of the Languedoc has to offer.

Viticulture

Here we have a well-balanced under-river vineyard, restructured 30 years ago into large plots that allow the cultivation rationally. The Carignans are carried out in tumblers, the Merlots in cord and trellised with 2 wires. Certified Organic Farming, the yield is 70 hl maximum per hectare.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested mechanically then destemmed at the reception. A cold pre-fermentation maceration allows develop aromas of small red fruits. Then comes the fermentation at low temperature (20°C) which gives typicity and fruitiness of the vintage.
